Lack of player numbers saw the third grade side forfeit to the Barbarians and the second grade side fell short to Ex-Services in Armidale.
Despite the second grade loss, middle order batsmen Adam Lennon and Charlie Keen put together a strong stand to keep the side in contention.
"It was the middle order that held up the team,” secretary Janelle Stewart said.
It was a good show first weekend out and hopefully it will be better this week.

Peter Presnell was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets from his eight overs.
The junior cricket season gets underway this weekend with Guyra fielding three sides in the under 16’s, under 12’s and under 10’s competitions.
Under 9 players also have the opportunity to play cricket with the Milo In2Cricket program kicking off next Tuesday. The program is for 5-8 year olds and will be held at Guyra Central School each week from 3.45pm to 4.45pm. For more information visit www.playcricket.com.au/in2cricket
