With a wide-variety of activities on offer in town, there’s no reason for kids to get bored, according to local mother-of-three Trisha Mcilwain.
“On Monday we went to the library and the skate park in Guyra.
“We had morning tea at Caffiends and watched the horse show at the showgrounds.
“On Tuesday we wen’t out to the new water park at the swimming pool and had a play at the highway park.
“On Friday we’re going to watch the Jungle Book movie at the library.
“We go for a bike ride every day or a scooter ride around the different parks in town.
“The kids are also excited to go to the Trout Festival this weekend,” she said.
There is also a tennis program on these holidays offering a two-day workshop which is great to get kids active, according to Ms Mcilwain.
Anja Mcilwain from Guyra Central School said she is looking forward to all the activities on offer over the holidays, including the new Guyra water park.
“I’m looking forward to the big sea horse that’s at the water park,” she said.
Guyra Library Assistant Clare Swinton said the library is a great place for kids to find hours of fun.
“The Jungle Book movie is this Friday and starts at 10.30am... it’s free but there are only 30 tickets available,” she said.
For parents who are willing to travel, some other activities include spending a day at Green Valley Farm in Tingha or horse riding at Harlow Park near Uralla.
