Armidale’s O’Connor Catholic College holds several step days during the year for year 5 and 6 students, which is a staged transition program for students moving from Catholic primary schools into high school.
The Guyra students had a wonderful day testing out some inventive science engineering skills and performing a short drama musical.
The highlight of the day was in the food tech lab where the students cooked up a storm with some delicious s'mores. The current students were able to catch up with some past students who shared some great stories from their past school days at St Mary of the Angels.
They were among 120 year 6 students from primary schools who were at O’Connor last week for the term 3 step day.
The day aims to ease the anxiety for students making the transition from primary to secondary school.
Another step day will be held later in the year for the students who enroll to attend O’Connor next year.
