Only three rounds to go before our two senior sides hopefully get a crack at finals football.
The under 16 Pumas sit comfortably second on the ladder, I am unsure of where the under 12’s are situated with the ladder not readily accessible at the moment.
Of course those players under these age groups being non-competitive have no finals football on their horizon.
Being away myself over this past weekend visiting she who must be obeyed’s family in Wollongong I was unable to catch any of the soccer on display.
I am told however that there were some very tidy performances by our junior teams.
The under 16 Pumas were unlucky to come home last Saturday with a 1 all draw after holding out their opposition until only three minutes to go.
Scoring for Guyra off one of those size 16 feet was BJ Cameron playing some very nice soccer.
Playing well also were Cody Martin and Harrison Dowden.
Not to be outdone was our contingent of Guyra Girls who were in particularly good form with Kelsie Youman, pronounced You-Man I believe, playing an absolute blinder and receiving fourth string coach of the pumas, Adam Brennan’s, 3 points.
Others in the points were BJ Cameron with 2 and Anna Jackson 1.
Anna had a fantastic game along with Ashley Richardson and Gemma Sisson who were strong for Guyra at the back.
Carly “Gigantor” Harman, who I have spent a great deal of alone time with over the past weekend, stated that if she had’ve been available to play then the result would have been a win for the Pumas.

Ah the confidence of youth.
From the oldest of our junior players to the youngest there was some great performances recorded throughout.
The under 6 Vipers had an excellent game with goals being scored by Eli McGinty, Henry Cox, Gracie Rainger and Hannah Evers.
Playing well for the Vipers was Hayley Williams.
Up against the South Armidale Swordfish who were a little short on numbers the under 6 Gremlins lent them one of our players in the form of Parker Campbell, thanks Parker for volunteering.
A confident little team this one who play so well together with some great skills and passing evident during play.
Many goals added last Saturday by this little team with Sammy Dowden and Jacob Ahern amongst the best on field.
You can see how much these kids enjoy playing with their friends and they have formed a rather formidable combination.
Well our under 7 Gems were certainly able to detect their opposition East Armidale Ninjas with ease playing a very nice brand of soccer. Scoring five goals was young Jack Campbell who was simply unstoppable last weekend in a very dominant display.
Jack was player of the match but was assisted very well to goal from his teammates on the day.
Well done Gems with an outstanding defensive effort.
Playing against a very well drilled and skilfull South Armidale, the under 10 Lil Casper’s unfortunately came away suffering their first loss of the season.
Short on numbers the Lil Casper’s often were left to play out of their normal positions leading to an indifferent first half performance.
The second half of play was much improved with both sides finding it difficult to worry the Keeper, defence being the dominant aspect of play.
Special mention and thanks must go to Ashley Donnelly and Rhett Heagney for filling in for the Lil Casper’s.
They both had a brilliant game in defence alongside Dylan McGinty and Jonno Wilson.
Goal scorers for Guyra was Jack Lockyer with 2 and Will Friend with 1.
