The Responsible Pet Program visited the school last Friday. Students met Indy, a German Shepherd, and learnt clear steps for approaching any dog to ensure their safety.
Transition to Kindergarten students attend Black Mountain Public School every Friday in the year before they start school.
This provides children with the opportunity to become familiar with school routines, and to make friendships with all students.
The Transition Class at Black Mountain provides students opportunities to engage in early literacy and numeracy learning, and supports students in developing strong foundations for their schooling across all areas of learning.
Children who engage with the program feel happy, safe and settled as they learn about school, which ensures that their first day of Kindergarten is a memorable one.
