Angus Lane played very consistently and won the 14yrs boys division, winning the final 6-0 against a strong opponent. Well done mate.
Angus wins the 10 points on offer and leads the way in the very strong 14yrs age group.
Caleb Kemp received his first defeat of the year in the under 8’s but held his composure to hold out Harry Purvis for 2nd position. Well done boys.
I had the privilege of umpiring Caleb’s and Harry’s match, which was a highlight of my weekend with the match going down to the very last point with Caleb hitting a serve return winner.
Players to make the playoffs after winning their pool were: Isabella Every (10yr girls), Aiden Purvis (10yr boys) and Kaleb Hope (12yrs boys).
Another highlight was Archie Davidson winning his first ever match in the Junior Development Series in only his second appearance.
Olivia Walmsley also found some form in the very strong 16yrs girls division, changing her recent loss to a Tamworth girl around and beating her 6/0. Olivia served great throughout the day and is in a great position to place for the Champion Of Champions.
A reminder to Junior Development Series players that Gunnedah is on 29 May. Anybody wishing to play can contact me or register online.
Once again, a very proud and happy coach congrats to all and a massive thanks to all parents, you guys are the backbone of this Academy.
