The state government might be doing its best to weaken our town, but the Super Spuds are only getting stronger in season 2016 and proved it in the Guyra Shire derby with Tingha on Saturday.

The first grade Spuds racked up a century against the battling Tigers, while the reserve graders also posted a big win to make it two from two at the New Red Hill.
Tingha actually opened the scoring in the top grade but once the Spuds started to put points on the board they couldn’t stop.
It was 52-4 by half-time and a merciless second half effort pushed the tally beyond the ton to a massive 112-10 by full-time.
Captain Gary Quinlan scored three tries as most of the Spuds lined up for a four-pointer or two.
The reserve grade game wasn’t quite as one-sided but the home team still ran up a 78-12 scoreline with Dylan King bagging four tries.
It will be much tougher this Saturday when the reigning premiers, the Inverell Hawks, come to Guyra.
Games kick off at 12noon with first grade to start at about 1.30pm.
This is a fundraising day, in conjunction with the rugby union club, for Mark Brazier and this will continue after the game at the top pub.
