Karen Oehlers, Joyce Betts and Colleen Hollingworth represented the New England in fine form last week at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club to compete in the 2015 Women’s Medal Competition State Final.
Remember when the event was abandoned due to electrical storms last year? This was the replay.
Karen, Joyce and Colleen played well. However, there were better scores on the day. Jacqui Scott of Wakehurst was the delighted winner with a 70 nett.
Meanwhile at Guyra, Shona Mulligan won the Stableford event with 39 points. Shona played super golf; hitting long drives and accurate approaches to the green with excellent putting.
Runner up was Meg Simpson with 37 points on a count-back from Jenny Rogers.
Last week I omitted a big thank you to Joyce Betts for donating the Trophy for the Par Medal competition which was won by Wendy Jackson two weeks ago.
Next Wednesday’s golf is a Par Medal and the starter is Pip White.
If you are considering becoming a golfer, you would be most welcome to come along for a game at 9:30am each Wednesday.

The longest drive went to S Sole. Nearest the pins went to A Brennan on the 7th, C Hutton on the 10th and S Brennan on the 18th.
Thanks to all who helped, organised, cooked and supplied the wonderful food and the great prizes for the day, it was a great success.
This Sunday will be an individual Stableford, sponsored by the Club. It will also be the May monthly mug.
