Joyce Betts played fantastic golf last Wednesday to win the day with 39 Stableford points. Karen Oehlers was runner up with 38 Stableford points so was the delighted recipient of the trophy donated by Joyce.
Wendy George hit a long drive of 164 metres into the 18th green to win nearest the pin. That shot will take some beating for April’s nearest the pin badge!
There is a three person Ambrose on Sunday for Guyra Soccer Club and next Wednesday’s golf is a Stroke event with a putting competition and the starter is Belinda Lenehan.
A general meeting will be held after the game.

No golf played last Sunday due to rain.
This Sunday, April 27 will be the Guyra Soccer 3 person Ambrose. This is always a fun day, so get your teams together and join in.
Coming up in the next few weeks are the Guyra Country Meats 4BBB Mixed Championships on May 9 and the Men’s 4BBB Qualifier on May 10.

Veterans’ Golf
On Tuesday, 25 Vets travelled to Armidale for the third game of our Pennants Competition between Armidale, Walcha, Uralla and Guyra.
The weather was kind to us for most of the day, but after the rain the temperature plummeted and some golfers came into the clubhouse very cold and wet.
We had a team of very keen golfers who played so well that we have extended our lead by 41 points.
The final game will be played in Walcha on May 14, and we hope that we will have another strong Guyra contingent so that we can bring home the trophy!
Thank you to all of the 25 members who played on Tuesday – it was a great team effort.
Some of our outstanding golfers were Pattie Hill, who won the Ladies Division with 34 points and Wendy George who was the runner-up. Wendy was also closest to the pin on the 4th hole.
In the Men’s B Grade, John Cummings came second with 33 points on a countback from Don Hill. Doug Archibald was the runner-up in the Men’s C Grade Division with 33 points.
Next week we will be playing a 4 Ball Stableford with a 9.30 start – all visitors are welcome.
