Last Saturday the Guyra under 8s hosted the Bingara Bullets in our second home game of the season.
The boys started off really well jumping out to a quick 8-0 lead with early tries to Rave Brazier and Wakeem Patterson.
Bingara struck back in the 2nd quarter levelling the game. A try to Archer Starr put Guyra back in front.
In the 3rd quarter Guyra had some great runs by Hugo Brazier and Tynan Bull, some good play making skills by Charlie Burey saw Brendan Landsborough score a great try right on the 3rd quarter time.
In the 4th quarter Guyra were trailing early until some great team play and lightning speed of Wakeem Patterson saw him score three tries, bringing his try total of the day up to four. What a great achievement Wakeem.
All the boys once again played really well in attack and defence and their team work saw the Guyra boys come away with a 28-20 win.
This week’s encouragement award goes to Rave Brazier for his overall great play in attack and defence.
There will be training Thursday.

Under 10s
On Saturday Guyra played Bingara at the Sporting Complex.
This was to be Guyra’s hardest game to date and they went into half time behind by four points. However, with a good defence effort in the second half and a conversion after the bell, Guyra stormed home to win 32-30.
It was a good effort by all 17 players. There will be no training or game this week because of Anzac weekend. Training will start the following Thursday.

Under 12s
The under 12’s played the last game for the day and a very entertaining one at that.
The first half saw a lot of hard running and some great team work to go to the half time break 20-6 up. In the second half the boys muscled up in defence and linked well in attack to finish the game 38-12 winners.
Try scores Alistair Connors 2, Billy Youman 2, with Bailey Wilson, Myles Williams Angus Brazier and Jessie Baker all getting one each.
Conversions to Billy Youman, Bailey Wilson and Henry Starr. Points to Alistair Connors 3, Bailey 2 and Myles 1. Ref points Alistair 3, Harry 2 and Billy 1.
Girls Tag 9-13
On Saturday the girls worked their guts out in a tradition of old fashioned slog out on the paddock. They played a well drilled Bingara team.
The girls took the lead early and looked like they would win convincingly but Bingara never said die and we ended the day with an 18 all draw.
The entire team played well together with Tori Brazier being outstanding in attack and defence, Myah Wilson showing her dedication in defence, Shanae Bull going well out of dummy half, and the Landsborough girls showing off their speed and agility. Elly Mitchel was again a great inclusion into the side showing off her skills bagging another try.
The team’s encouragement award was taken out by Akashia Brazier who displayed some fantastic tagging skills.
All girls should give themselves a pat on the back with the improvement they have made in a short period of time as this is only a new entry to the group 19 competition and a lot of girls having never ever played before.
Our next game will be against Glen Innes in two weeks’ time and there will be no training this Thursday.
