He believes that people in this electorate are not going to be fooled by superficial spin and are sick of politicians who roll out at election time and claim the credit for grant funding that was almost always won by community volunteers wading through reams of grant application papers.
“I know because I have waded through that paper myself before,” he said
“Mr Marshall has been very visible so far this election campaign, but I am waiting for him to address the real issues and tell us why his Party has failed to protect prime agricultural land or why his Party has failed to resolve grossly unfair native vegetation laws.”
“I am committed to this electorate, my family live here and I want my children to have a future here,” Mr Mailler said. “I have watched the National Party abandon rural Australia in favour of a Coalition.
“In truth the role of the local Member is to empower local communities and facilitate the provision of resources and political access in partnership with the community.”
“This means the local Member needs to understand the community. The local Member needs to be emotionally committed to the electorate.”
“I don’t have all the answers to all of our problems, but I have a local small business and community background in this electorate. Small business, be it on farm or in town, is the key to our economic future. A viable economy is fundamental to underwriting the social solutions for our community and delivering a regional future for our kids.
