Robert Walls took on Robert Moore. All the money was on Robert to win!
Robert (Fitz) Moore jumped to an early lead of 6-2. Robert (Tapper) Walls came back and by end nine was in front by 7-6. He then stretched it out to 14-10 by end 15.
Robert (Fitz) came back and by end 18 scores were 14-all.
End for end this game went and then Robert (Tapper) jumped and by end 25 was leading by 24-19.
Robert (Fitz) came again and by end 28 drew level at 24 apiece.
This was where something interesting happened, so here we go: Robert (Tapper) won the next five ends, but alas could only score one’s, going to a lead of 29-24.
Robert (Fitz) then scored on the last five ends, thus coming away with a very head fought victory of 31-29 after 38 ends.
Just for the record: R Moore won 20 ends; R Walls won 18 ends. Scores were level on eight occasions.
Thank you to both players and the marker for organising this game, as it wasn’t boarded.
