Acting Principal Sam Hutton said that the staff, students and families at the school are deeply saddened by the passing of Andrew who was a Year 7 student.
Ms Hutton described Andrew as ‘a great little kid who was always optimistic about life.’
“We pass on our deepest condolences to his mother Anne, brother Dylan and grandparents Dudley and Jill Bull.”
She said that students have found it difficult, especially year 7 and counselling was put in place at the school for students and parents.
“Backtrack also came up to assist which we really appreciate,” she said.
“The Department has measures in place and we have been well supported. Prinicipal Jo Burgess also returned to the school to support the students.”
Andrew was a member of the Guyra Junior Rugby League under 12s team who were minor premiers this year.
The club has paid tribute to Andrew on their facebook page:

Champions are willing to do what they hate in order to get what they love. You are our champion.
You will forget the hits the kicks and the scores but you never forget a fellow team mate. You will be with us every day and every game team mate.

RIP Andrew from your fellow team mates and friend.”
