This is his first win for the Grills’ stables, with only four starts after a courageous second in the Cup Day Sprint at Coonabarabran and welcomed the 3kg claim from apprentice Melinda Graham from his 62.5kg impost.
“After we won the Armdale Cup with Dusty’s Felt, the connections starting looking for another horse to race. I spoke to my brother, Charlie to keep a look out for us.
“Early in June I got the phone call to say he had found a horse that had been racing down in Melbourne and his owners wanted to downsize. Beyond Infinity arrived at our stables in August,” Grills said.
Paul said, “He is a beautiful strong five year old bay gelding by Exceed and Excel and has only had four starts for our stables running 6th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st, taking his winnings to over $14,000 for us. Not a bad investment seeing we only paid $18,000 for him.”
Beyond Infinity is racing for local owners: Paul Grills, Craig Waters, Michael Jackson, Bruce Coppock, (owners of Dusty’s Felt), Rob and Jimmy Lenehan, Terry Williams, Mark Atkin, together with Harley Payne from Armidale, Charlie Grills from Holbrook and two Sydney owners, Tracy and Kerry Rix.
Grills is looking to start both Beyond Infinity and Dusty’s Felt at the Gold Coast this Saturday.
