Swimmer Sara Brazier has added to her collection of medals following a trip to Melbourne last week where she competed in the 10th annual Special Olympic Games. Sara was part of the 318 strong NSW team.

Held from October 20 to 25, Sara competed in the 50m breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke. She came away with a silver for the freestyle and gold in the backstroke. Sara was also part of the 4x50m relay team who finished 4th.
Special Olympics Australia is the leading provider of regular sports participation and competition for people with an intellectual disability hosted the tenth Special Olympics Australia National Games in Melbourne, Victoria.
The event featured almost 1,000 athletes of all abilities competing in 16 sports in Australia’s sporting capital. It was the biggest National Games ever hosted by Special Olympics Australia.
The highlight of the meet for Sara was the closing ceremony which was held at Luna Park. It was a fitting finish to the event with lots of fun had by all those who had competed at the games.
