Game 1 saw B Presnell take on J McIllwain in Open Singles. Barry started off alright but then along came John, firing on all cylinders. He took control of the match, racing away with a resounding victory over Barry.
Game 2 we witnessed J Pennell and M Bourke take to the green, also in Open Singles. John came out fast and furious. Murray threw everything at John but to no avail. John also secured a solid victory over Murray.
Game 3 and what a game! This was a Minor/Major Pairs contest between the pairings of P Johnson and D Wilcox versus R Walls and S Sole.
Robert and Steven were first out of the blocks, going out to a 5-2 lead. Paul and David came back and by end six were leading 9-8.
With Robert and Steven stringing a few ends together, they regained the lead by 14-9 after 10 ends (half way), then stretched it out to 17-13 after 13.
From here it was exciting stuff. After 16 ends the scores were 18-all. After 18 ends it was 19-all. After 20 ends the score read (you guessed it) 20-all. So whoever scores on the next end would take the spoils.
Victors by the narrowest of margins were Robert and Steven, 21-20.
For the record, in this game the lead changed hands eight times and scores were level on three other occasions. (Tough school, here.)
There are no bowls boarded for this weekend due to an influx of bowlers bowling away. Feel free to have a roll-up. Anyone welcome.
