Played on the weekend of September 20th, 21st and 22nd, Taryn Ramage and Jessika Burling were part of the team which won all seven of their games and were declared winners. Over the three days the team scored a total of 14 goals and conceded only two against!
The Championships were played out over three days in Coffs Harbour with teams from Mid North Coast, North Coast, Far North Coast, Northern Inland, Hunter Valley, Newcastle and Macquarie as well as Emerging Jets sides competing.
The 14 Years age division was decided early in the Championships with Northern Inland Football emerging as early front runners on day one, and continued in strong form to hold on to the Championships.
In the 12 Years age division, Guyra was represented by Kasey Gaukroger and Tori Brazier. This division was more tightly contested over the three days, with Hunter Valley Football, Football Mid North Coast, North Coast Football and Northern Inland Football all sitting on equal points heading into day three.
Newcastle Football trailed by 2 points, however, they had two games in hand in which they were successful in both, putting the side ahead on the leader board to bring home the Championship title.
The NNSWF Technical Committee, comprising of Technical Director Michael Browne, Female Skill Acquisition Coach Lauren Colthorpe and Technical Advisor Craig Deans, was present over the three days assessing players and coaches and identifying players.
NNSWF Technical Director Michael Browne said: “Overall it has been a very successful tournament and it was obvious all of the girls enjoyed the experience which is a major part of it.”
“Hopefully, with the assistance of the coaches, the girls can analyse their performance, especially from a technical perspective and look to improve as they get older.”
“Special thanks to all of the parents for all of their commitment in enabling the girls to play and to all the coaches for all of their efforts with the teams,” concluded Mr Browne.
