The girls were playing for a spot in the State semi-finals and came up against a very strong team from Foster. They were still in with a chance at half time with the score at 1-0 in favour of Forster, however they were unable to match the strength of the the opposition and the final score was 4 nil.
This result means they have reached 5th in NSW, which is an outstanding result for Guyra Central School. A training run in the holidays revealed their dedication and commitment as a team.
Coach Eunice Blair said that the girls played really well.”They put in 110% effort and should be very proud of themselves,” she said. “The Foster team was a very tough opponent.”
This talented team of local girls consists of Kirbee Burey, Chloe Brown, Tori Brazier, Kasey Gaukroger, Dakota Field, Dakota Pixton, Colleen Pearson, Hallie Ramage, Mackenzie Ramage, Claire Davidson, Analiese Wark, Alexis Ross and Stephanie Cameron.
A huge thank you to the parents, supporters and staff that travelled with the team to enable the girls to participate in this competition at such a high level. A special mention to Kevin and Jan Harman who travelled with the team and led the cheer squad as ‘adopted’ grandparents.
