However some restrictions will still apply as we are now only just entering the warm Spring – Summer period
In a first for Guyra Shire, water restrictions have been in place since January this year due to a prolonged period of drier than average rainfall.
Guyra experienced its driest summer on record with a rainfall total for the three summer months of just 74.7 mm.
The year to date rainfall is still well below normal with just 439.3mm recorded to date, which is 179.2mm below average.
Without regular rainfall in the dam catchment, the storage level will be of concern once again. Water users are asked to continue conserving water wherever possible.
As from September 22, residents may use hand held hoses at any time of the day. The use of fixed hoses and sprinklers will be limited to two hours per day between 4pm to 6pm.
