Shooters were assisted by sunny skies and light breezes as they battled the 100 targets for the time honoured “Cool 100”at Guyra Gun Club on Sunday July 27, 2014.

Sixty-two shooters travelled from the North-West, Hunter Valley and Southern Queensland to compete for cash and prizes.
The “Cool 100” was sponsored by Northern Star Conveyancing and the earlier event, the New England Winter Championship, was sponsored by Guyra Recycling. Both businesses have been generous supporters of Guyra Gun Club for some years.
Minor sponsorship came from: Ridley’s Mini Skips; Kleenheat Gas; David Newberry; Kirks IGA; Michael and Kay Hunt (Perrazi).
Brad Henshall continues to be one of the top shooters in NSW, and took this year’s “Cool 100” with an impressive score of 119/119.
The Grade results are as follows:
AA Grade
1st: Clyde Mitchell 118/119; 2nd: Matt Colley 116/117;
A Grade:
1st: Kevin Bourke 99/100; 2nd: Tim Bourke 119/121;
B Grade:
1st: Dennis Walsh 101/107; 2nd: Gerard Sainsbury 100/107;
C Grade:
1st: John Barker 90/100;
2nd: Nick Short 86/100;
Ladies: Tammy Henshall 98/100;
Juniors: Harry Jarrett 122/131;
Veterans: Geoff Baxter 98/100.
The earlier event, the New England Winter Championship, was won by the in-form local shooter John Reid with 99/100.
Tony Rogers won AA Grade with 98/100 and Jeff Richardson shot 117/120 to take second in AA Grade.
Kevin Bourke’s score of 96/100 secured A Grade, with Jamie Poole shooting 95/100 and taking second in A Grade.
B Grade went to John Russell (96/100) and Dennis Walsh (95/100) took second.
The C Grade winner was Alan West (95/100) and John Barker shot 107/120 to secure second place.
The overall High Gun was won by John Reid (198/200). The Grade High Gun winners are as follows:
AA Grade: Tony Rogers 235/240;
A Grade: Kevin Bourke 195/200;
B Grade: Dennis Walsh 189/200;
C Grade: Alan West 178/200;
Lady: Tammy Henshall 189/200;
Junior: Nicholas Tanner 184/200;
