Grills said that Dark Facet has had a patchy racing career with several preparations.
“I just get him right then something happens and then it’s back to the drawing board,” he said.
“He is a great little horse and runs well and I have a lot of time for this horse. Now it seems that all the time and effort I have put into him is showing results.”
“His win on Saturday was very impressive, coming round the bend onto to straight he just took off and never looked like getting beaten,” Grills said. “He won by one and a half lengths and was ridden perfectly by Geoffrey Snowden.”
Dark Facet is locally owned by Wendy, Michael and Matt Jackson and Dr Hawkins from Tamworth. He has had 17 starts with two wins and four placings. Grills is now looking at Moree for his next race with the gelding.
