With a lot of talk at the Club about Pennants, action took place on the greens in Glen Innes and at Guyra on the weekend. The No 2s went to Glen Innes and played Armidale City at 9am on Saturday morning but were defeated by 3 rinks to nil. Result 6-0 and big board read 78-42 to Armidale City. Saturday afternoon Guyra played Inverell RSM and managed a victory of two rinks to one. Big board said 64-57, result 5-1 to Guyra.

Sunday morning Guyra took on Kootingal, losing on three rinks going down on big board by 85-42, result 6-0 to Kootingal. As of going to press Guyra No 2s are in third place. Their next outing will be played at Uralla on the weekend of May 3 and 4.
The No 7s also played on the weekend in a double header at home. Needing to win their first game the boys turned up to play. The team of C Peardon, RI Reid, J Hamel and B Presnell a win by 36-16. Then R Cox, R Walls, Jackson and R Moore a win by 25-15. The third of the teams saw G Burgess, W Reeves, M Bourke and A Sparke also win by 23-18. Perfect outcome, three rinks to nil, big board said 84-49. Final result 6-0 to Guyra over Uralla. Sunday afternoons match saw Guyra take on Armidale Ex Services, with the winner to claim the District Flag. Hopes were high and confidence was good. But alas we couldn’t fall over the line but instead we fell, losing all on all three rinks, going down 6-0. (Big board 71-39) to Ex Services.
Congratulations to Ex Services and kick some butt for New England, when you go to Zone.
To all, the bowlers that participated in the Guyra No 7s this season, thank you and well played, let’s do it next year.
