As a focal point for locals, and particularly Guyra’s Youth, The Hub at Guyra aims to build resilience in the community by encouraging everyone to be connected, respectful, participatory, resourceful and trusting. This year’s Anzac Day theme of ‘Honouring, Remembering, Thanking, Renewing’ fits very well with the support that we endeavour to be for our community, and on this Anzac Day we will be marching with other members of our community.

The Anzac Day services, held throughout the world, help us to remember and show respect to the men and women, past and present, who have served our Country helping to make it what it is today.
We also like to think about the families and friends who have lost their loved ones but who go on living without that special person or persons in their lives.
Part of the way we remember their service to Australia and our allies is through the March. This year The Hub at Guyra will be marching and we would like to invite anyone who wishes to show their respect by marching, to march with us. Many of our Youth members will be honouring the Anzac Day traditions by marching with their school but for any young people who are no longer at school, or other people who have no-one to march with we would love to have you join us. Young, old or new to Guyra and the Anzac Day march you are welcome to march with us.
We will meet at The Hub at Guyra (opposite the Guyra Post Office) at 9.50am and walk together to the official meeting point at Fourways Service Station; BUT there’s more!
Before that you are very welcome to join us for breakfast in the courtyard of our ‘home’ at 147 Bradley St. These courtyard feeds, which we have held on previous Australian celebration days and are free of charge, are becoming a little legendary!
If you want to join us at 9am on Anzac Day we would love to see you here. You will need to let us know you are coming so we have enough bacon, eggs, tomatoes and other goodies! Call 02 6779 1635 and leave a message or talk to us between 10am and 2pm Tuesday to Friday each week when the office is open.
The Hub at Guyra is a not-for-profit organisation and is open to everyone who wishes to visit or is in need of information or referral to other services. Our Youth meet on Wednesdays during school term from 3.30pm for a couple of hours and there is always luscious food available.
