Last year about five hundred people were involved in the Tour de Rocks ride in some way. Among these were about 30 Guyra men and women who were involved in the three day ride from Armidale through the eastern fall forests, down the escarpment to the Macleay River and then into beautiful South West Rocks.

The Tour de Rocks is established as a charitable organisation with three objectives – cancer awareness, prevention and research. This year the Tour de Rocks leaves Armidale on Thursday April 24 and arrives in South West Rocks on Saturday April 26. There is two nights camping along the way, the first at George’s Junction where an ANZAC ceremony will be held at dawn on April 25.
Two teams from Guyra are again registered to take on this amazing bike ride - the Guyra Mountain bike team and the Mayled Shearing Contractor team.
Channel 7’s Sunrise morning show is this year following the ride with James Tobin registered to ride the 3 days. This means you will be able to keep a watch out for someone from Guyra on the morning weather crosses.
A great fundraiser for this worthy cause is being held on April 4 at Rafters Restaurant. Tickets are available at GALA or High on Bikes at Rafters.
