The Lions Club of Guyra recently held its annual changeover with very few changes to the executive and board. The enthusiasm of the executive shows through with all re-standing for their respective positions.

During his speech to the gathering, President Graeme Shiels listed the donations that the club has made during the year. This included a donation to the Guyra MPS for the Helipad accepted on the night by Wendy Mulligan.
“I am delighted to be able to report that this year has been a very successful year for the Guyra Lion’s Club thanks to the outstanding assistance and support of the local community,” President Graeme Shiels said. “Without their help we would not have been unable to achieve all that we did this year.”
During the year the club made donations totalling more than $9000 to a large number of projects including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter $500, Kids to the Coast $680, Lions Youth of the Year $442, Pat Garrett Appeal $500, Lions Childhood Cancer Foundation $150, Lion NSW/ACT Save Sight Foundation $200, Donations to School $350, Care Flight $500, Senior Citizen’s, Outing $641, Lions Chord Blood Foundation $300, Helipad at hospital $700, Guyra Area Schools $350, Guyra MPS –Special Wheel Chair $1310, Guyra Heliport Committee $700, Guyra VRA $800, Westpac rescue Helicopter $400 and Guyra Can Assist $800.
“The members of the Guyra Lions Club and their families would also like to thank all those people who’ve bought raffle tickets, corn or chips, or Christmas cakes and Lions Mints for their amazing support.”
