Heavy Heart at loss of shire

28 Jun 10 | It is with a heavy heart that we read that Guyra Shire will shortly cease to exist. It is hard to argue that small shires can successfully survive in the era of rate pegging, increasing costs and the continued transfer of activities from State and Federal Governments to the local government sector.
