Three members of the Guyra Pony Club recently competed in the North West Equestrian Expo held at Coonabarabran.
Samantha Clayton along with Joseph and Kathryn Green achieved very good results for their schools and themselves.
The event had 500 entries ranging from private schools who have riding as part of their curriculum to public schools, sometimes with only one rider to represent their school.
There was strong competition from the many larger schools, but this did not deter our kids who entered events with enthusiasm, eager to show their ability on their capable horses.
Samantha was place first for combined training, was awarded reserve champion gallaway hack and placed 4th in 13 to 15 years bareback rider.
Joseph (Year 7) was placed 5th for boy rider, 3rd in the barrel race and 1st in the keyhole race.
Kathryn (Year 7) was placed 3rd for girl rider and 5th for pony hack.
