Men's Golf

26 Apr, 2007 10:03 AM
Last Sunday was the 4BBB stableford for the NSW Championships. A good field of about 30 players contested this event but unfortunately I was away for the weekend and at the time of writing I have not been able to obtain the qualifiers so I will print all the results next week.

This Saturday is the Mixed 4BBB qualifying round for the NSW Championships and then on Sunday it is the Captain Managers trophy which is a 4BBB Par with David Lyes the Starter

Saturday Afternoon Golf with John Williams

Still no jumper wearing on a lovely autumn day with plenty of run on the golf course, and greens holding the ball or maybe its my technique, something learnt on  Armidale and Uralla greens in the recent pennants matches.  At which Guyra did extremely well. 45 points to Bruce Moffat in Armidale last Tuesday to win the day. The Molly Sole competition was won by the Mighty Jack Swerdlow with 41 points followed by John Williams, Doug Archibald, and Nancy Prisk.

The vandals who removed various flagsticks prior to the weekend show a very selfish attitude towards the enjoyment of golf. Its a pointless act and the expense of replacement is suffered by not only golfers but by the whole towns population that get benefit from the Bowling and Recreation Club. Those responsible for removing same please return the flagsticks to the first tee, you can do it in the dead of night when no one can see you. This is obviously your best time for getting your pleasures in life.
