Guyra Third Grade played Easts at the Guyra Turf on Saturday in the first of their two day games and after dismissing Easts for 94 Guyra set about building a sizable first innings lead at the end of day one.

With BJ Kliendienst claiming an early wicket Guyra was away to a good start anndafter a mini revival for the second wicket Easts took the score to 2-48 before they lost the remaining eight wickets for 46. The main wicket takers were Jack Kliendienst 3-26 and Steve Brazier 4-9. Jason Rolff 1-8 and Ian Mayled 1-12 took the remaining wickets.

The star of the Guyra innings was Bruce Coppock who featured in six partnerships before he was out for 80, he was involved in two 50 plus run partnerships 55 with Kyle Taylor (40) and 70 with Len Archer (50). At the end of day one Guyra are 7-221.

Fourth Grade played Hillgrove at the School with Hillgrove wining the toss and electing to bat and finished at 9-179. Josiah Stace and Nick Burey both took three wickets, Brad Waters two and Matt Mason one.

Josiah Stace maintained his good form with 48 and a late innings burst of 46 from Matt Mason got Guyra a good win. Other batsmen to make double figures were Ben Stace 18, Matt Simpson 12, Jock Waters 11 and Nick Burey was 14 not out. Guyra totalled 7-192.
