Guyra hosted their rounds of the Peugeot Women’s Classic on Wednesday August 26 and Sunday August 30. The tournament, now in its fourth year, has been made possible through the support of Peugeot Automobiles Australia and Golf Australia.
The weather was kinder to the Wednesday players with Sunday being a bit wet and very windy. Jenny Shiels played really good golf to win the Individual Par (played in conjunction) with a Plus 7 in a field of 8 on Wednesday. Ball comp. to Kath Varley and Pip White with Pip taking the nearest the pin on the 18th.
With Jenny in such sizzling form the Team of Jenny, Pip and Wendy George won the Guyra Peugeot Classic for 2009. We now wait to see if our 93 points are good enough to get us through to the State finals in December. The winning team members will also receive a special golf-shirt to acknowledge their victory. All players registered for the Peugeot Classic received a memento gift and have qualified for other special offers from Peugeot.
Wendy has again done a great job in putting together this year’s annual trip. We are off to Yamba on November 4 to 6. We need to know numbers soon – so if you are coming please let us know. It’s bound to be loads of fun and just a bit embarrassing for good measure.
Par Medal rounds again for September 9 and 13. The qualifying for Kirk’s Trophy was held yesterday. This event always attracts good entries.
