Guyra Third Grade looking for a top two finish on the points table are well on their way to an outright win after a great first day against Centrals at Newling Oval in Armidale.
The highlight of the Guyra innings was Kyle Taylor’s 120 including 21 fours. Kyle was well backed by Jack Kliendienst 82 who featured in an opening stand of 66 with Bruce Coppock 23 and 108 with Kyle for the second wicket. Lachlan Stewart and Kyle also had 66 run partnership to put Guyra in good position, declaring their first innings at 7-286, Guyra then bowled Centrals out for 44 and will be for outright points on day two this Saturday.
The Guyra bowlers were on target with six of the Centrals wickets being bowled. B J Kliendienst 2-17, Jason Rolff 3-11, Jack Kliendienst 2-15 and Steve Brazier 3-1.
The Guyra Fourth Grade team scored a twelve run win over St Kilda on Saturday. Batting first Guyra scored 105 with Peter Jackson 50 not out and Josiah Stace 17 being the only two batsmen to make double figures.
In the St Kilda innings they looked to be cruising at 5-83 before they lost their last six wickets for 11 runs giving the Guyra boys a win. Brad Waters 5-32 and Josiah Stace 2-14 and Matt Mason 1-20.
