Eight teams lined up on Saturday October 31 for the Sole’s Newsagency sponsored Mixed Open. Don and Patti Hill combined well to come home with 52 points for the winner’s prize. Runners-up with 50 points were Deb Maxwell and Cam Peardon. Jenny Shiels took out the pin shot on the 9th. With no winners for the pin shot on the 10th and 18th we had a card draw for the great trophies supplied by the Sole family, which went to Graeme and Jenny Shiels.

Kirk’s IGA sponsored Guyra Open on Sunday November 1 attracted 63 players from around the district. Armidale players, Tim Murray won the A Grade Gross with a 1 over par 73, G. Doolan won the B Grade Gross with 82 strokes and P. Caling won the C Grade Gross with 86 strokes. Nett winners on the day were A Grade: N. Levey from Glen Innes, B Grade: Steven Brazier (Guyra), and C Grade: S. Layton from Bundarra. Nett Runner-Up winners were A Grade: B. Gallagher (Glen Innes), B Grade: G. Reeves (Warialda), C Grade: B. Norris (Glen Innes). Front Nine Winner was Robert Moore (Guyra), Back Nine Winner was M. Tanner (Inverell). Long drive prizes went to locals Scott Mendes and Matt Jackson, as did the Nearest-the-pins: Phil Devlin (7th), Ian Taylor (10th) and Robert Moore (18th).

This Sunday November 8 is the Paul Dullaway 4BBB Stableford and Family Challenge. The starter is Darren Lennon. Saturday the 14th there will be a Golf/Bowls Fun Day Fundraiser in aid of Jodie Stewart and Family. Sunday the 15th is the final round of the AR Burey Battle.
