Team work, dedication and loyalty have been highlighted during a series of presentations that recognised long-serving Hunter New England Health employees.

A total of 13 staff at Guyra MPS were among those given framed thank you certificates on October 23 for their efforts working for the health service for 10 years or more. The certificates were presented by Tablelands Cluster GM Wendy Mulligan.

The longest-serving employees at Guyra are Judy Grills (33 years), Sue Croaker (22 years), Maureen Cox (21 years), Sue Adams (21 years), and Dianna Presnell (22 years). Health Service Manager Tessa Capsanis has also worked for the Area Health Service for 21 years..

The idea for the Top of the Range, Top of the Tablelands Awards came from Health Service Managers based in the Tablelands Cluster and includes the towns of Armidale, Guyra, Uralla, Glen Innes, Emmaville and Tenterfield.

Those recognised during the award ceremonies included staff who had provided 10, 15, 20 and 30-plus years of dedication to the health service.

In total, 130 Tablelands Cluster staff members were acknowledged for dedicating 10 years or more to their respective health service; their combined amount of professional experience equates to a staggering 2675 years.

Tablelands Cluster General Manager Wendy Mulligan said long-serving employees were a vital asset to Hunter New England Health, and that those staff exemplified the HNE Health Values of teamwork, honesty, respect, excellence, ethics, commitment, courage and caring.

“As a Cluster, we wanted our staff to know how much we value their experience and loyalty, and we wanted to honour them accordingly. They are a tremendous asset to our organisation,” Ms Mulligan said.

“We are proud that many of our employees have chosen to stay with us for so many years. Their contributions are not only substantial from a workplace point of view, but they also contribute to a sense of stability, dependability and community spirit within their towns. This cannot be underestimated.”

The Top of the Range, Top of the Tablelands award ceremonies were made during the past week at Emmaville on 21 October; Tenterfield on 21 October; Guyra on 23 October; Glen Innes on 26 October; and Armidale on 26 October.

Working in the new MPS environment has also been a rewarding experience.”

The longest serving employee at Guyra MPS is Registered Nurse Judy Grills (33 years). “I have really enjoyed my time here,” she said.

“The companionship and camaraderie of all the staff makes it a terrific place to work. Everyone has a great deal of respect for the work all team members do.
