St Mary of the Angels entered a number of art works into the local Guyra Show last weekend. The children received a number of awards and recognition for great work.

The 5/6 students won the Guyra Show Society Champion Senior Primary Art ribbon for their collage on the theme Biodiversity. This collage consisted of chipping paper to create texture and depth. 3D application of the paper onto the collage created a 3D effect of a bee pollinating a flower. This technique meant that the picture of a bee pollinating a flower could come to life.

Years 2/3 won second prize for their collage based again on the theme of biodiversity. They used crayons to draw mushrooms. These were fixed to the painted background. The K/1 children also gained 2nd prize for their theme flowers and butterflies. This collage was presented to Kolora Homes to help add colour to their lives. Congratulations to all our students on their class efforts and the many individual prizes they received.

A big thank you to our many helpers who helped with our art and craft for the show. As well as helping the K/1/2 students decorate their Arrowroot biscuits and the 4/5/6 students with their peach preserves.
