St Mary of the Angels School News

Last Friday students from St Mary of the Angels were privileged to attend a performance by the Armidale Youth Orchestra. Students travelled by bus to Lazenby Hall where they listened to a selection of popular classic pieces played by some very talented Armidale students. This performance allowed our students to listen to instruments from different sections of the orchestra and enjoy the thrill of an exciting live performance.

Whilst in Armidale we also made time to visit the Armidale Sport and Recreation Centre for a morning of fun and frivolity. Everyone in the school tried their hand at ten pin bowling with quite mixed results. Sadly, the teachers had to admit defeat as we were unable to match the scores of some students. Congratulations to Ben Turner who had the highest score, followed closely by Lochlan Elks and Jayden Field. Cody McLeod scored the only strike in the infants section of the school. Well done Cody!

Kidz World also provided a heap of fun. It was difficult to tell whether the teachers or students enjoyed themselves the most. Numerous balls were launched inside the ball house and it must be noted that a number of our senior boys were tackled and overpowered by teachers who were obviously superior at rough and tough games. The student behaviour was exemplary. It was such a pleasure to take these beautifully behaved children out on this excursion. They were a credit to their school and to their parents.
