New garden taking shape

01 Dec, 2008 04:05 PM
Anyone who has visited Guyra Central School this week will have noticed how wonderful the front garden area of the school is looking. Our P&C ran a working bee on Sunday – sincere thanks to parents Rodney and Deborah Merritt and Gina Lockyer and to staff members Dale Smith, Terese Lockyer, Jenny Atkin and Sam Hutton and assorted children for the great effort. Gina’s initiative secured a grant for the school to plant some new garden beds, and the area is looking fabulous. Sincere thanks also to Lucas from Highland Hire who donated the use of some of the heavy equipment to assist with the work.

Included in this week’s newsletter is a very quick survey for parents relating to our school logo/crest. Surveys should be returned to the main school office no later than next Monday, 1st December. The logo will be included with our new school uniform. A poster showing the designs in colour is located at both school offices if you would prefer to see this version.

K – 6 are enjoying their swimming lessons this week, despite the weather. Next year we may move the classes forward to October – it seemed warmer then! Thank you to the parents and teachers who are leading this essential school program.
