A program organised by the Guyra Seventh Day Adventist Church, and sponsored by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), has resulted in new skills for 13 locals.
The members of the Banbai community completed the course through the New England Community College. Church members Wayne and Bronwyn Atkins approached Dorothy Lockyer to find out what the church could do to help the community. A need for courses in Chemical Use training and Chainsaw operation was identified. ADRA was approached and approved funding to put the plan into action.
A morning tea and simple graduation ceremony was held on Friday August 14 to recognise the achievements of those involved.

Chemical Users training – Djarrdee Patterson, Allan Davis, Jacob Patterson, Travis Patterson, Marley Blair, Robert Patterson, Dominic Cutmore, Adam Patterson.
Chainsaw – Robert Jerrard, Adam Patterson, Marley Blair, Brandon Landsborough, Daniel Cutmore, Djarrdee Patterson, Brian Torrens, Dominic Cutmore.
