 Light Horse train at Guyra

Light Horse train at Guyra

18 Mar, 2010 09:31 AM
Even though the weather was damp, 16 riders gathered at Guyra Showground for a Light Horse Training Weekend. Riders from Murrurundi, Bundarra, Warialda, Guyra and Toowoomba attended.

Every one enjoyed participating in a number of different activities designed to improve their skills in various Light Horse areas. These included Skill at Arms, Rescue Race, Drill (on foot) and Weapons Handling. “Achievement” was the aim for the weekend; and most went home satisfied with having met this aim.

The week end was held as a lead up to the Light Horse Annual Competition known as The Association Cup which runs on similar lines to The Prince of Wales Cup which was competed for by Light Horse Regiments before World War II.

Thanks were extended to the organisers and specifically to Wayne and Robyn Mills who catered for the participants. The Guyra chops were appreciated by all.
