Help to strengthen relationships

18 Jan, 2010 03:29 PM
The importance of life long commitment between a man and woman is integral to healthy life, happy families with balanced and secure children. It is the basis of community well being in any society.

In our Australian culture marriage is still the main expression of life long relationships. However, in our post modern society, cohabiting by mutual agreement has grown in popularity and is now considered a normal life style... In whatever way a man and woman commit to one another, the challenge is in maintaining that commitment for the whole of life.

Following the previous success of the Marriage Course, BlueCross Church will commence the next Marriage Course from February 7 2010 This is being offered to give couples the opportunity to gain tools that will aid them in strengthening and even revitalising their relationship.

The Marriage Course will greatly benefit any couple who want to enhance their marriage or other form of commitment. If you are within your first five years of marriage it can give you the skills to keep the flame in your relationship. It will provide you with the tools to make good relationships great, to add strength for struggling relationships or to restore damaged relationships. No matter how successful or endangered your relationship is, you will benefit from the tools provided by the course.

The Marriage Course gives clarity to those who are going through a time of significant change in marriage. Often marriage relationships suffer stress when the first child comes along, or when there are career changes for one or both of the partners.

Parenting teens can bring added pressure to the marriage relationship. And we shouldn’t forget the sense of loss when we first become “empty nesters.” Perhaps you are unsure how to deal with the extra time in one another’s company at retirement. Partnering in business may add stress to your relationship.

It is easy to be unsure about our own objectives at times. It is even more difficult o understand the objectives and motivations of our partner.

Coping with the many varied situations that so easily bring stress to you and your partner is not merely instinctive. The Marriage Course can give you the knowledge and skills to enable you to navigate your way through every scenario which may bring pressure to or even threaten your relationship.

Whether you are committed by marriage or another form of mutual commitment; you are to your partner their only legitimate source of romance. Why shouldn’t we develop skills to better meet one another’s expectations and heighten our own sense of acceptance?

The Marriage Course requires both people in the relationship to attend. Each couple’s privacy is respected and there will be no group discussion. Personal matters are guaranteed to be kept between you as partners.

At the first session every participant will receive a comprehensive manual. Dessert and coffee will be served each week. (It’s almost worth signing up just for that!) The eighth week of the Course takes the form of a celebration. This is all included in the cost of $100.00 per couple.

•There are limited places available and anyone interested should phone Lee or Vicki on 6779 1988.
