Guyra Central On Show

15 Mar, 2010 04:51 PM
Our students demonstrated their potential in so many areas with a host of awards and prizes at the Guyra Show. Ours stars in the agricultural sector were Lisa Saunders, Braden Sole, Samuel Sisson, Heidi Gordon, Jodi Ellis, Taylor Waters and Kyle Martin. First places were also awarded to vegetables and produce from the school farm and several firsts for our poultry.

Individual students, both primary and secondary, showed their prowess in cake making, preserves, artworks, photography and woodwork. Many a first, second and highly commended card was awarded to a Guyra Central student which made me feel very proud. What a fantastic effort. It is a true testimony to the wonderful opportunities that are made available to our students to tap into their skills and interests. I commend all students for their willingness to participate and to represent the school by making a contribution to the local show.

At the school display in the pavilion we very proudly promoted the school through examples of student work together with a photographic display showing our students and staff in action in a broad range of activities. Thanks must go to Mrs Deb Merritt for the fantastic effort with the show stand and to the school staff who manned the display for the duration of the show.
