Are you looking for something interesting and for the family to do during the holidays? Maybe some interactive and educational activities for the kids? Well, the National Parks and Wildlife Discovery program has organised several activities in and around the Guyra district during the school holidays.

“This is the first time that these activities had been offered for the people of Guyra and visitors to the town,” said discovery coordinator Bec Smith. “We have tried to provide something of interest for every age group.”

The activities include a highly interactive kid’s activities afternoon at the Mother of Ducks Lagoon, investigating frogs and threatened species, which was held on Wednesday Oct 1.

Our Discovery Rangers will also be conducting a guided walk to investigate the incredible biodiversity around the Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve. The tour on Tuesday October 7, will begin with a morning tea at 10am and conclude by 12pm.

Finally, back by popular demand, we will once again be conducting our very popular spotlight night at Mt Duval. This place is crawling with gliders of every description and is a wonderful place to visit with the whole family. Join the Discovery Rangers on Friday October 3 from 4:30-9pm but book soon as this tour is very popular.

There are many more activities planned for the holiday period including “Meditation in the National Park”, 4WD Tagalong tours and Aboriginal heritage tours.
