Award winning bread

22 Jun, 2009 03:19 PM
If you thought the bread baked at Guyra’s Country Fresh Hot Bread Shop was ‘Top of the Range’ the judges results are in – second year apprentice Steve Kliendienst has the winning recipe.

At the regional apprentice baking show held recently in Tamworth, Steve was awarded for his fine work with a first place for a white loaf of bread and a 2nd place for his chocolate éclairs.

Now in his second year, Steve was up against other apprentices and bakeries from throughout the region and has now put Guyra on the map for the best bread in New England.

Recent sharp hike in production costs have meant that Country Fresh Hot Bread has had to adjust their prices meaning that award winning loaf of bread will cost a little bit more. However they can still boast that they are the cheapest bakery from here to ‘Timbuktu’ and back.
