23 Feb 10 | Guyra Third Grade played Easts at the Guyra Turf on Saturday in the first of their two day games and after dismissing Easts for 94 Guyra set about building a sizable first innings lead at the end of day one.
23 Feb 10 | A pleasant, cloudy day greeted 78 golfers from Armidale, Walcha, Uralla and Guyra on Tuesday, 9th February. The shotgun start worked well. After the golf Donna and David prepared a barbeque lunch for the hungry golfers. The salad was provided by the Guyra Ladies. Thank you all.
23 Feb 10 | The 2010 season has started for the Guyra Polocrosse Club with a rush. We have a number of members representing their state at 3 different events over the coming weeks.
23 Feb 10 | The Guyra Super Spuds have welcomed three new signings for 2010. Armidale local but born and bred in Guyra Will Archibald will play his first season in Guyra in 2010. Will has played a number of seasons with Armidale and is well known for his electric speed
23 Feb 10 | There were three Club Championship games played over the weekend and the results were:
Handicap Singles: Braden Sole (-1) proved to strong for Mick Rusden (0) taking the game 31 – 12 over 26 ends. Braden’s Singles form has continued from last weekend. Col Stanley (-8) returned to form when he defeated Paul Johnson (+3) 31 – 13 over 27 ends.
23 Feb 10 | On Sunday February 14 Guyra Swimming Club hosted the annual Triangular carnival between Walcha, Uralla and Guyra.
A great day was had by all with Guyra taking out the trophy for most points on the day.
Congratulations to all the kids who participated and thankyou to all the parents who helped on the day.
23 Feb 10 | Last Friday St Mary of the Angels held their school Swimming Carnival at the Guyra Swimming Pool. All students K-6 attended along with many parents.
23 Feb 10 | What a very exciting week it was at Black Mountain last week – a week full of learning both inside and outside the classroom.
On Thursday the primary students travelled in to the Guyra Swimming Pool to attend the Guyra Central School’s primary swimming carnival.
23 Feb 10 | A Science Revolution at Guyra Central School
Work is progressing very well on the new Science facility as it finally takes shape with the frames being erected this week. It will be such an asset to have a state of the art, modern facility to expand the delivery of a broad range of science programs at the school.
23 Feb 10 | Environmental Trust funding of $196,564 has been allocated for remedial projects in the Northern Tablelands.
Member for Northern Tablelands Richard Torbay welcomed the grants of $98,594 for the Citizens Wildlife Corridors Armidale and $97,970 to Southern New England Landcare. (SNELC).

23 Feb 10 | It’s on again! The very popular Guyra Seniors Ball will this year be hosted by Guyra Home and Community Care, Can Assist and local charity groups on Monday March 8 at the Guyra community Hall. The ball will commence at 10am and conclude at 2pm.

23 Feb 10 | In conjunction with this week lamb sale at the Guyra saleyards the annual Prime Lamb Show and Sale was held. 2500 lambs were yarded in a show of stand out quality for local producers.
16 Feb 10 | Play began on February 2 in winter like, blustery conditions. Twelve golfers braved the conditions and scoring was good. Roger Grills was nearest the pin on the 10th hole and Warren McCowen was nearest on the 18th hole. Pat Grills continued on his merry way when he again recorded four points on one hole 3 times.
16 Feb 10 | The top four clash between Guyra and Hillgrove was played on a damp pitch at the Guyra turf andwith the first day of the two day game washed out it became a one day game. Batting first Guyra was all out for 115. The home side got of to a good start being 3-62 before losing three quick wickets to be 6-87 and it didn’t take long for Hillgrove to remove the tail taking the last four wickets cheaply.
16 Feb 10 | Hi just letting everyone know that all activities at the pool are back in full swing after the holiday break with Swimming Club on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6pm, aqua aerobics is on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9.30am and Wednesday nights.
